Online Distance Education program from a University
score over the private sector because that matches
the Indian standards of education, gets the
students a valid degree and enables him to learn
in a highly technical atmosphere managed by
private entrepreneur.
In case of our associated University, the program
is developed with the latest syllabi and the
contents and subjects are practical and job
oriented. They score over the other Universities
because of the presence of “National Coordinator”
who take care of the logistics and front-end
support to ELearning Point Office and students.
This sector will never have a reduced market
where as it is possible that the programs that
are not up to the mark may loose the ground.
The only alternative to such programs can be
the on line virtual campus programs that need
a high bandwidth at the end user level. More
over it has been found internationally that
the personal interaction of the student with
the faculty can’t be replaced with computer
based learning but can be complimented with
the distance learning program. With a futuristic
approach the University is also considering
to network all its eLearning Points for logistics
management and education delivery along with
the physical Training.
Due to the absence of organized participants
in this new field, Universities with a broader
and futuristic approach will be highly successful.
Many Universities have tried to launch their
distance learning programs but the key issues
that have not been taken care of are as follows:
Improper Project Planning
- Guidelines of DEC/AICTE/UGC have not been
understood / followed; that establish the
credibility of the program.
- Market study has not been proper for selection
and pricing of courses.
- Obsolete Course Content.
- In case of direct operations the institute
does not have adequate infrastructure to handle
the program.
- In case of public-private collaboration
the sole purpose had been to exploit the commercial
angle and not to deliver education.
- Adherence and Obedience to the calendar
of events have not been done.
- Improper delivery of education and lack
of tools such as course material etc.
- Universities lack secretarial and management
services.
For the above said reasons there is dissatisfaction
among the clientele group. Research indicates
that this niche market is primed to accept our
offering because the program is as per the guidelines
of UGC, AICTE and DEC and the above failures
have been taken care of. They are eagerly waiting
for a university that has:
Planned its program broadly and deeply
from all angles
- Has followed all norms and guidelines of
the competent authorities
- Has launched latest in demand courses like
M.Phil., MBA, M.Sc. (IT) and MCA
- Has opted for experienced private entrepreneurs
as Network Advisors
- Has latest and industry oriented courses
and their contents
- Can adhere to the calendar of events
