CAMPUS
The Need for
Online Education
APEX believes that Knowledge is pervasive and
should be made available to everyone. That is
why we have brought the power of ONLINE CAMPUS
to deliver the knowledge @ your desktop which
is the driving force behind the ONLINE CAMPUS.
Hardly 30% of the school children who pass out
are able to get into professional colleges due
to lack of training resources available to prepare
themselves for the competitive examinations.
Hardly 25% of the students, who pass out of
the colleges, are employable or industry-ready
and ONLINE CAMPUS aims to fill up the gap by
providing the requisite knowledge through our
network.
Being one of the biggest education systems
in the world, India is producing 3.5 million
graduates every year. The number is not a major
concern; rather, how many of them are employed,
is a major concern. As per the survey of National
Association for Software Services Companies
(NASSCOM), only 30 to 31 percent of the engineering
graduates are employable in the industry. Now
the question we have in front of us is what
happens to the remaining graduates.
In India, despite having such a large number
of graduates passing out of colleges each year,
we are not able to fill the vacancies in the
industry. This is mainly because soft-skill
training among graduates is comparatively less
in India. There is a huge gap between industry
needs and academic training.
Various studies including NASSCOM-McKinsey
Study 2005 throws up some interesting insights
to validate India’s positive human-power
status.
- The number of IT-BPO professionals employed
in India grew from less than 200,000 people
in 1998 to over 1.6 million in 2007
- India currently has around 347 institutes
of higher education and 16,885 colleges with
a total enrollment of over 9.9 million. These
produce around 495,000 technical graduates,
nearly 2.3 million other graduates and over
300,000 post-graduates every year
- India’s emergence as a preferred outsourcing
destination has created the need for about
3.5 million professionals by 2011. Based on
current estimates, a shortage of skilled knowledge
workers may arise if remedial action is not
taken.
While conventional training centres can bridge
the gap between expected and existing knowledge
among graduates, Professional Courses through
online education make the students Industry
Ready.
ONLINE CAMPUS fits in the requirement and provides
various Degree and Diploma program in Science,
Humanities, Commerce, Engineering, Paramedical,
Hospitality & Aviation, Hotel Management
and Management disciplines and make them employable
or Job Ready.
